The strength or stickiness of pricing gun label adhesive is dependent upon two factors: tack and adhesion. Tack is the stickiness of the pricing label when it initially attaches to an item—at the point of adhesion. Removable pricing gun labels are specifically designed for low adhesion or a weak attachment between the pricing label and the item it is attached to. Unlike permanent pricing gun labels, which are highly adhesive, removable pricing gun label adhesive remains at the point of tack, never fully setting, allowing for easy removal. With the exception of the above-mentioned high humidity factor, removable pricing gun labels, because of their low level of adhesion, can be removed simply and easily after months or years without leaving any residue behind. 

Partial gum pricing gun labels, available by Monarch, offer the convenience of both permanent and removable adhesive in one pricing label. In partial gum labels, half the pricing gun label is designed for high adhesion and the other half for low. This means that half the pricing label adhesive will set while the other half of the pricing label will remain at the point of tack, never fully adhering to the item and allowing for easy removal.
